Visual Therapy
Visual therapy is a therapeutic approach that uses visual art as a tool for self-expression and emotional healing. Patients create art such as painting, sculpture, photography, or video to express emotions, explore personal experiences, and discover new insights about themselves.
The projects I am involved in include visual processes related to the human psyche and developmental visual tools. The benefits of visual therapy include:
-
Non-verbal expression: Allows patients to express emotions and thoughts that cannot always be put into words.
-
Trauma processing: The creative process helps to process traumatic experiences and find relief.
-
Cognitive skill improvement: Enhances cognitive functions such as attention, memory, and creative thinking.
-
Sense of achievement and satisfaction: Creating art provides a sense of accomplishment and boosts self-esteem.
-
Stress and anxiety reduction: The creative process is calming and reduces stress and anxiety.
